The New Mexico Forum Foundation and Forum Board of Directors Update
On August 15, 2012, released the following statement regarding the status of the New Mexico Forum Foundation:
August 15, 2012
The Board of Directors for the New Mexico Forum for Youth in Community (Forum) is optimistic about the future of positive youth development efforts in the State of New Mexico and is resolute in its efforts to realize the Forum's vision of ensuring opportunities for well-being for all New Mexico youth, despite the economic challenges of this period in our country and in our state.
A primary Board goal has been to create a long-term sustainable future for the Forum and its work. To more effectively and efficiently achieve that goal, the Board is transitioning to a more focused approach to long-term funding. As of August 15, 2012, the Board will disolve the New Mexico Forum Foundation, which currently operates as a separate entity, and will instead establish an endowment under the auspices of another foundation in New Mexico.
The Board publicly thanks the McCune Charitable Foundation for its generous support for the Forum Foudnation.
The Board is confident that focusing its efforts on the mission and vision of the Forum will ensure that the organization and its may partners working to achieve the vision will thrive this year and into the future.
