Board of Directors
Lowell Overby
ChairLowell Overby is one of four YMCA of the USA (National Office) Senior Resource Directors. He is responsible for the delivery of management consulting services to over 250 YMCAs in eight mid-western states, through the supervision and management of 11 Resource Directors. Lowell has worked in the youth development and non-profit fields for over 25 years, and has been involved with the Forum since its inception.

Lisa Marie Gomez
Vice-ChairLisa-Marie is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and has been member since 2005. She started as one of the three youth members, and has continued to serve as a young adult. While serving on the Forum’s Board, Lisa Marie has continued to be active in the community, serving on the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, acting as Youth Program Coordinator for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and a former member of the ENLACE leadership committee.
Maria Sanchez
SecretaryMaria has been involved with the Forum since the Forum began. First as an intern, then as a Youth Alliance member for two years, Maria was instrumental in setting the tone for youth engagement and youth involvement through the Forum. After her service as an alliance member, Maria joined the Board of Directors as a youth member in 2007. Since then, she has provided invaluable leadership to the Board and the organization.

Bryant Gomez
DirectorBryant Gomez has been a community volunteer since 2004. He has served as a member of the Forum Vista Cadre, UNM Service Corp, and also volunteered with Albuquerque Public Schools working on community organizing and youth development initiatives. Those experiences provided him the opportunity to serve on the National Youth Leadership Council in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Recently, Bryant had the opportunity to participate in an internship at Walt Disney Corporation building skills in community and corporate collaborations.

Antonia Montoya
DirectorAntonia Montoya is a nationally certified health educator and owner of Sendero Wellness LLC offering management training and development to businesses in Albuquerque, NM. She has many years experience working with youth in Albuquerque and surrounding native communities as a health educator. Through her business, she successfully applies many of the principles of Positive Youth Development to adult personal/professional development.

Flora Sanchez
DirectorFlora Sánchez is a consultant, presenter and trainer, facilitator, nationally certified counselor, and educator with extensive knowledge and experience in the Developmental Assets model advanced by Search Institute. Other expertise lies in the areas of: Community mobilization, Youth development, Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth Initiatives, Conflict resolution and mediation, and Cultural diversity.
Opportunities 
The New Mexico Forum for Youth in Community is seeking adults and youth to fill vacancies on its Board of Directors. Prospective board members should have the following preferred general characteristics:
- Knowledge of, strong belief in, and demonstrated support of Positive Youth Development principles and movement
- Volunteer experience with non profits or intermediaries
- Relationship/s with:
- Government agencies
- Business leader
- Policy makers
- Groups with parallel missions (national, state, local)
- Cultural groups/organizations
The Board is especially interested in individuals with the following specific knowledge or expertise:
- Attorney
- Accountant
- Education
- Fund Development
- Grassroots organizations
- Media
- Policy analysis
Expectations of Board Members:
- Willing and able to attend regular board meetings (approximately six per year), mostly held in Albuquerque
- Support the Forum’s strategic plan
Term of Commitment: minimum of two years
