MAPPING AFTERSCHOOL:

The NM Out-of-School Time Network is charged with mapping afterschool in NM.  We are conducting site observations with select groups leading up to the 2005 Legislative Session.  Because the scope of afterschool is much larger than that currently being viewed, we are posting our site observation tool as a means of collecting more data from those interested in helping provide a broader view of afterschool in rural, reservation, township, and urban areas throughout NM.  Click here to obtain the tool and e-mail or fax your information to Clarence Hogue at (505) 821-9674 or at clarence@nmforumforyouth.org

The NM Out-of-School Time Action Network is comprised of over 40 diverse organizations and groups focused on ensuring afterschool as an "answer" for NM children and youth.  How are they doing this?  By committing their time and expertise to...

  1. Identifying out-of-school time indicators of well-being for NM children and youth connected to Children's Cabinet outcomes

  2. Identifying additional partners with a role to play

  3. Being present to discuss afterschool challenges and promising/best practices

  4. Contributing to the "story" of why afterschool may not be fully accessible to all NM children and youth

  5. Contributing to an afterschool data development agenda
