Public Allies New Mexico
Public
Allies New Mexico, an intensive, ten month leadership development
initiative for young adults (17+ years) and is housed at the Forum.
Our 10-month-long AmeriCorps program offers full-time paid apprenticeships in local non-profit and community-based organizations where they serve four days per week and create, improve and expand services that address diverse issues such as youth development, education, public health, economic development, the arts and the environment.
Members earn a monthly stipend of $1,300 to $1,800. Receive health care, child care, student loan deferment, and a post-service education award of $5,350. They also engage in comprehensive skills development and connect to non-governmental organizations for mentoring and implementation of community development efforts through team service projects.
Each Public Allies New cohort begins in September; the Forum is in its third year of coordinating this leadership development effort. Public Allies New Mexico is a partnership with the Public Allies National Office (“New Leadership for New Times”), affiliated with the Corporation for National and Community Service.
